Regency Honore Pons Clock
Highly decorated with flowers and leaves on the body and highlighted by two bands of ormulu this clock is in wonderful condition with no signs of restoration or over cleaning. The top which is an integral part of the clock is cast with a bronze eagle and its captured prey - a hare. The clock movement bears the gold medal mark awarded to Honore Pons in 1827 and so must date between 1827 and 1834 when he was again awarded a gold medal. Honore Pons was a renowned master horologist famous for improving the quality of clock movements in France in the early part of the 19th century.
